Meeting you half way wasn’t always the easiest.

My half way was two miles longer, full of flowers and blue sky’s

you only ever had to walk a few feet down the hall and open the door.

Sometimes you would be waiting arms wide open

other times you never showed

you just unlocked the door and kept me waiting

I guess I got used to you not showing up

When the door would open for me

you standing — smiling excited for once to see and touch my face

I felt loved.

I guess that’s what they call bread crumbs
